Liam Foundation - Against the Mitochondrial Disease by WebPlify

Project objective

The Liam Foundation’s website redesign project aimed to :

  • Modernize the Foundation’s online presence.
  • Facilitate donations with an intuitive transactional system.
  • Improving support for families with a blog space dedicated to resources.
  • Optimize the foundation’s visibility in search results (SEO).
  • Improving the user experience (UX) for fast access to information.

1. Discussion and awareness

After many discussions with Kevin James Reason, founder of the Liam Foundation and Liam’s father. Liam’s journey, determination and fighting spirit in the face of this disease. The story inspired me and touched my heart. So the objective was to fully understand the Foundation’s expectations, both in terms of the design and functionality of the new site. It was essential to convey the foundation’s commitment and mission through a user-friendly interface accessible to all.

2. Current site analysis and benchmarking

n-depth analysis of the existing site was carried out, focusing onergonomics, navigation and SEO performance. In parallel, benchmarking was carried out by examining the sites of other similar foundations to identify best practices and opportunities for improvement.

3. Redesign of the Site Structure

Following the analysis, we undertook a complete overhaul of the site’s structure to make it more intuitive and easier to navigate. We simplified the menu, and created sections dedicated to donations, testimonials and research news.

A blog space has also been integrated, enabling the foundation to share useful information and resources for families affected by the disease.

4. Improving the User Experience (UX)

User experience was a priority in the redesign.

We worked on a fluid navigation, with a simplified design and clear graphic elements in line with the foundation’s colors to guide users.

The donation path has been simplified so that visitors can easily contribute to the cause, while being reassured by the transparency of the process.

5. SEO optimization

To boost the foundation’s online visibility, we optimized the site for SEO by working on keywords related to mitochondrial disease and the foundation’s actions.

Metadata was integrated on every page, and we ensured that images and content were optimized for better natural referencing.

The aim was to make the site more visible to those seeking information on this rare disease and ways to support research.

6. Tests and adjustments

Before officially launching the new site, we carried out several series of user and technical tests. These tests verified the site’s responsiveness on different devices and browsers, as well as the proper functioning of the transactional donation system. Adjustments were made to ensure optimal site performance, with reduced loading times and a smooth user experience.

The end result of this redesign is a modern, functional and optimized site, which perfectly reflects the mission of the Liam Foundation. Thanks toSEO optimization, the foundation now enjoys greater visibility on search engines, attracting more visitors and potential donors. The integration of the transactional donation system facilitates contributions, while theblog area offers a point of reference for families seeking information and support.

Key points of the project :
  • New, attractive graphic design.
  • SEO optimization to increase visibility.
  • A blog to inform and support families.
  • Integration of a secure donation system.
  • Improved UX for better accessibility and simplified navigation.

The Liam Foundation can now count on a website that not only supports its actions, but is also an essential tool for expanding its community of support and accelerating fundraising.
